Counseling and preparation in English
If you have been ordered to undergo an MPU, this means that there is a large amount of aspects that you need to consider. You need to find out what type of MPU has been ordered, whether you need to provide proof of abstinence, how you need to prepare and, of course, what exactly is required of you. That’s why it’s a good idea to get competent advice and preparation in English.
What does the MPU consist of?
The MPU (medical psychological examination) consists of a questionnaire, a reaction test, a medical examination and a psychological interview. Especially the psychological interview is very demanding and requires extensive preparation. But the other points require as well that you meet all the necessary criteria, in order to prove your ability to drive in a safely manner.
What happens during MPU counseling and preparation?
When you take advantage of an MPU consultation, you will receive information about the various steps you will face, as well as the requirements you must meet. We will also help you clarify all organisational aspects and help you with the necessary documentation. This way, you will know what needs to be done in order to meet all the criteria.
However, the most important part of MPU counseling and preparation is the review of your own behavior and personal history. This involves not only possible offenses that caused you to lose your driving license, but also the reasons for your behavior. Avoidance strategies, rethinking in certain life situations and external as well as internal circumstances are also important in order to convince the experts that you are suitable to drive a motor vehicle again.
The MPU appointment
An English MPU preparation helps you to be optimally prepared. But what about at the MPU appointment? Is it possible to take it in English or do you still have to answer all the questions in German?
Even if a language barrier is a problem, the MPU will not be any easier if you state that you do not understand certain questions. After all, the testing center must follow certain procedures and quality standards when preparing your report. Therefore, it is possible to request a translator who will help you understand the questions and translate them so that they reflect what you are saying.
It is important to mention that a sworn translator is requested by the test center. Therefore, you cannot bring your own translator, acquaintance or family member to your MPU appointment to help you.
